We've been working away at updating our new house since we closed on November 20th. Finally starting to see all the planning and work payoff as it starts to get put back together. We're beyond excited to finish, move in and simplify our life. Nothing like having a baby and buying a new house and remodeling it all at the same time. How beautifully boring everything will seem once we move in and sell our current house and can just enjoy.
Our to-do list included:
Replacing all the original single pane aluminum windows. Including the glass block windows in the living room looking out to the park.
Gutting the kitchen and increasing the opening to the dining area. Updating with all new cabinets, flooring, etc, etc.
Refinishing the hardwood floors
Upgrading the old oil furnace to gas and Plumbing gas to the house, etc.
Reworking the electrical panel and installing new can lighting throughout the house.
Insulating the basement.
Installing new carpet in the basement.
Painting throughout the whole house.
Installing new mounding.
Updating all light fixtures.
It's a lot!
We're at least halfway done and have most everything else lined up to be completed. Hope to move by late March. Now the packing begins at our current house. Thankful for helping hands!
