Denver
Blane was at a conference in Denver this week for work and we decided to take advantage and make a little mini vacation out of it. We flew out on Friday night and I headed home late on Sunday evening. It was an action packed weekend but felt like we got away. Katie Mac, friend from school, has been living there since we graduated from WSU and I had been wanting to pay her a visit and this was a perfect time. Charlie and Chelsie, also friends from school, had just wrapped a 4 year stint in Cleveland for dental school and moved to Colorado Springs the Monday before we arrived. Katie Mac picked us up from the airport and we quickly headed downtown for one of their friends b-day parties and got to see the hoppin' nightlife. I felt like I was at WSU but on a bigger and more metropolitan scale. We enjoyed some great people watching. On Saturday we enjoyed delicious crepes for breakfast (so good we went on Sunday too) and then walked to one of the area farmers markets. We had a nice lazy afternoon and then wrapped the evening with a brews & blues festival. We all enjoyed savoring the local beers. On Sunday we did a little carbo loading before hitting Water World. While we all felt a little...what's the right and PC word...dorky it was a blast. And a good way to stay cool in the hot weather. It was a great visit with good friends and we're looking forward to going back for a wedding in August. Sorry no pics, we left the camera at home - bummer.
