We Made it to Bangkok

We have arrived! Our flight departed from Seatac around 2:10AM and was relatively smooth until we were flying over Japan and then we got caught in a lightening storm. It was a bit bumpy. Everyone was doing okay with the turbulance exept me, it was touch and go there for a while but I was able to keep it together and didn't have to use the special white bag. We had a smooth connection in Taipei and we landed in Bangkok at 10:30AM local time on Saturday the 30th. We hopped into a taxi and headed to our hotel. Mr. Saad our driver was great - teaching us some key Thai phrases, though he had no idea where our hotel was so we got an extended tour of the area. We then jumped onto the sky train and had our first Thai meal at Siam Square. We just spent a couple hours by the hotel pool and are now off to Ko San Road, backpacker's heaven, for a night out on the town. Sadly we don't have the cord to upload pictures, but will hopefully get some photos up soon. Just a funny note, there are about 5 Starbucks within a mile radius of our hotel so we have a little taste of home.

We are off to Chiang Mai tomorrow afternoon.

I am so glad to read that you made it and that you are already on your adventure. I heard on NPR this morning that there is turmoil in Thailand and that the transportation systems were affected in Bankok. Something about a protest against the prime minister.

It sounds like you are having a wonderful time already.

I loved reading your posting.

Can you believe that there are so many Starbucks so far away?

We love you, mom and dad webber
