We had spent the week prior getting the house clean and putting up decorations. Trying to minimize the amount of work on the day of as much as possible. Everything was looking good and then we had a series of funny events all leading up to Sunday. Friday we got a call that Bennett had goopy eyes and needed to go home. Come Saturday morning it was full blown pink eye. When he has a cold it often turns into pink eye. Boo. Thankfully we had drops on hand and started him right away - not contagious after 24hrs on drops - in the clear for the 1pm party on Sunday. Luckily he was generally in good spirits. Then on Sunday we decided to get all the food from Costco the morning of so it would be fresh and we thought B would nap on the way home, waking up in time for the party. While they were gone I came to realize it was daylight savings time and people were coming over in 40min. Not 1hr40min! Whoopsie. A little scramble but all worked out. B ended up not napping due to the excitement and just partied through. He had a blast. We finished the evening with playtime at the park and dinner with my sister and family and then we all crashed.
What a milestone. I'm amazed how this itty bitty baby is now a walking, smiling, interacting toddler. He loves waving hi and bye, blowing kisses, reading books. It's the sweetest when he walks over with a book and cozies up in your lap. Our big sweet smiley boy.
