Blane and I purchased a Groupon a while back for 2 for 1 paddle boarding and were coming up on expiration so decided to use it last weekend. Why not hit the lake on Oct. 1st?! We got to Kirkland and the wind started to pick up and rain was on the horizon in Seattle - but we decided to go for it. While out there we were joking that Pemco should make this into a commercial - Northwest Fall Paddler - in denial it's actually fall and trying to still enjoy summer activities. We paddled into the wind and once we were halfway across the lake decided to turn around and head in as it actually had started to rain and the waves were getting bigger. Not easy to navigate on a paddle board. We had 2 hrs (which is a long paddle in itself) and made it a whopping 45min! Oh well, we can cross it off our summer to-do list.
